matua poem
MATUA POEM
The colour of celebration assembly is a deep dark red, like a delightful red velvet cupcake.
The crowd welcomes me as I walked onto the stage.
It smelt like unwashed socks, as Taonga class puts their feet all over you.
It tasted like slobber drooling down my chin thinking of food.
It sounded like thunder storms as people clapped.
It felt like nerves shivering up my spine.
It looks like crickets bouncing up and down.
It lives at Mangonui School in Taniwha class.
